Cathay Pacific has been given the green light to build a new air cargo terminal at Hong Kong International Airport.
Freight through Hong Kong's airport is growing by 4.5 per cent annually.
The airline said they plan to invest HK$4.8 billion (NZ$770 million) into the design, construction and equipment of the new building. It will have an annual air cargo throughput capacity of 2.6 million tonnes, and is open for use by any air operator, not just Cathay Pacific.
The facility is planned to open in the second half of 2011.
