DUNEDIN -Wanaka businessman Ian Farrant was appointed a director of the failed Tasman Pacific Airlines last Tuesday, just four days before the company went into receivership.
He and Dunedin businessman David Skeggs are on the company's five-person board of directors. Last May, Graeme Marsh, also of Dunedin, bought a stake in the company.
Mr Farrant was yesterday reluctant to discuss his involvement, other than to say he was appointed an alternate director, standing in for someone who was overseas.
A company search shows the five directors and the date of their appointments are: David Belcher, of Auckland (March 24, 2000), Kevin Doddrell, of Auckland (May 30, 1996), Ian Farrant, Wanaka (April 17, 2001), David Skeggs, Dunedin (March 24, 2000), and Fred Watson, Auckland, (March 24, 2000).
However, the company's web site, shut down hours after the receivers were appointed, lists as directors Australian Ken Cowley as chairman, David Belcher as his deputy, Kevin Doddrell, Trevor Farmer and Fred Watson.
