Emirates has set a new record by ripping out first class seats to pack in 615 passengers in one of its new Airbus A380 aircraft.
Luxury travelers will still be able to fly in luxury with 58 seats business class.
Removal of the first class seats in the newly delivered plane allowed for about 130 more economy class seats. The transformation does not come at the cost of legroom, the new seats will stay true to the economy dimensions and contain widescreen entertainment devices.
The new layout was unveiled at the Dubai Airshow earlier this month and the plane will soon start flying a seven-hour route between Dubai and Copenhagen.
Emirates has no plans to change aircraft configuration on its New Zealand and Australian services.
