There was a small decline in passenger numbers at Auckland airport in June, Auckland International Airport reported today.
Total international passengers increased 0.3 per cent in June, compared to the same month last year while domestic passengers fell 1.7 per cent.
International departures increased 4.4 per cent, but this was offset by a 4.0 per cent decline in international arrivals.
Domestic passengers were up 2.8 per cent for the year and international passenger growth was up 1.3 per cent for the year.
Over the year, the main NZ and Australian markets grew 2.3 per cent and 1.9 per cent respectively, supported by strong growth from China and India.
This was, however, offset by declines in arrivals from a number of the Asian countries, including Korea, Japan and Singapore.
AIA shares closed unchanged on $2.15.
