The Commerce Commission did not say Air New Zealand and Qantas had drawn up a plan to avoid competing with each other, as reported yesterday.
The commission said it had a Qantas document discussing the airline holding back on co-operation with Air New Zealand.
The Herald also suggested Qantas and Air New Zealand were avoiding competition while they sought approval for their alliance.
In fact, the Commerce Commission claimed the airlines were avoiding co-operation planned as part of their alliance.
The Herald apologises to both airlines for the errors.
