KEY POINTS:
Alitalia shares rose more than 5 per cent yesterday after newspaper reports that KLM-Air France and the US buyout firm Texas Pacific were interested in buying the failing airline a week after the Government's auction to privatise it failed.
Shares of Italy's flagship carrier rose as high as €80c ($1.38).
Air France spokeswoman Veronique Brachet denied the airline was looking at Alitalia, saying: "Nothing has changed. We are not interested."
