Airport taxi service

Air New Zealand has launched an online taxi booking service, which it says will help save passengers money.

The airline has teamed up with Alert Taxis to provide a fixed price for passengers travelling to and from Auckland Airport.

The service also applies to airports in Wellington, Queenstown and Christchurch, although the taxi company will be different.

Bruce Parton, of Air New Zealand, said: "It's one low fixed price, booked and paid for in advance ... so if you travel at peak time you don't end up paying extra to sit in traffic," Mr Parton said.
