The price of Airbus planes is going up 3.27 per cent this year.
The Toulouse-based company said the price increase has been calculated according to Airbus' "standard escalation formula" and enabled it to continue to enhance its profitability.
Increases will push the list price of an A320 - used on New Zealand domestic and transtasman routes - to US$97 million ($125 million) .
The world's biggest passenger plane, the super-jumbo A380-800, will now cost US$428 million. Prices airlines pay depend on engine choices, level of customisation and discounts from buying in bulk.
Demand for new planes from Airbus and its rival Boeing has been strong in the past few years as airline balance sheets improve and they seek greater fuel savings from modern, efficient aircraft.
