KEY POINTS:
Air New Zealand passengers booking domestic flights over the internet will now be able to pick where they sit and check-in online.
The airline has launched the new service today on all domestic flights allowing passengers who book over the internet to select a seat, check-in and print off a boarding pass before leaving for the airport.
"Customers travelling without any luggage will be pleased to know they can head straight to the gate with their printed boarding passes, by-passing the need to visit the check-in counters altogether," said Norm Thompson, general manager Air New Zealand short haul.
The new online system also allows passengers to change flight dates and times or cancel Flexi fares booked online.
Internet bookings account for more than 50 per cent of domestic bookings, said Thompson.
