A new report says checked luggage is disappearing a lot more often than previously thought.
Information technology systems provider SITA expects 30 million pieces - or about one per cent of bags checked on by airlines - will go missing, worldwide, this year.
Increased airport congestion, short transition times and the rising number of passengers are being blamed.
Most missing bags will be reunited with their owner within 31 hours, but around 200,000 will be lost forever.
