Ruakura Fieldays back on rural calendar

Crown research institute AgResearch is resurrecting its Ruakura Fieldays, once attended by thousands of farmers.

The Hamilton event at the organisation's Ruakura campus was last held more than 10 years ago. The fieldays started at Ruakura in 1949 but got so big the National Fieldays at Mystery Creek were started as a result. AgResearch chief executive Andy West said his organisation had decided to relaunch the Ruakura event on June 13 as a day of seminars just before National Fieldays.

A wide range of topics will be covered, most aimed at saving or making farmers money.
