New Zealand dairy production has remained stubbornly high, according to data from the Dairy Companies Association of NZ (DCANZ).
The latest update from DCANZ, which covers all the main dairy companies - including Fonterra - milk production in September was up by 1.1 per cent or 0.3 per cent on a miksolids basis.
In the season eason-to-date, milk production was down by just 0.2 per cent (down 0.8 per cent) and for the 12 months to September, production was down by 0.8 per cent (down 0.9 per cent).
Fonterra said last month that production in key dairying regions globally was reducing in response to low milk prices, and that milk collection in New Zealand was running more than 3 per cent lower than last season.
