Nufarm almost doubles profit

Crop protection company Nufarm is bucking the current economic trend.

It has almost doubled its first half profit to A$65.2 million compared with the previous year. Group sales rose 25 per cent to A$1.24 billion.

Nufarm produces products that help farmers protect their crops against damage caused by weeds, pests and diseases.

It will be paying an interim dividend of 12 cents per share.
