Exports of cut flowers to the United States are about to resume, just over a month after the discovery of a pest brought the trade to an abrupt halt.
A total ban was imposed in September after the light brown apple moth was found in two shipments.
Biosecurity New Zealand spokesman Peter Johnson says a new compliance programme has now been approved by the US, which will ensure the moth does not cause any more problems.
Cut flower and foliage exports to America are worth around $12 million a year.
