A survey of New Zealand exporters found 60 per cent expect export orders to increase in the next year.
The survey, by express company DHL, also found 45 per cent of exporters expecting profitability to improve. The on-line survey, to which 190 freight industry representatives responded, also found 55 per cent of exporters anticipated employee numbers staying the same.
A government stimulus package for emerging exporters was wanted by 82 per cent of respondents.
