Rural New Zealand wants faster broadband and better mobile connectivity, a Vodafone survey shows.
Rural households were asked whether they would prefer mobile broadband in the home combined with increased coverage around the farm or improved fixed-line broadband.
The results showed a preference for a mobile broadband, calling and text solution (56 per cent) over fixed-line (44 per cent).
Federated Farmers chief executive Conor English said it wasn't a question of one technology or the other and that both were needed on the farm.
