Cow effluent charges against two Marlborough farmers have been proven.
Judge Jeff Smith, sitting in the Blenheim District Court, said charges against Phillip and Suzanne Woolley were for breaches relating to effluent and an underpass at their farm before the appointment of receivers.
The couple, represented by Hugh Rennie, QC, were found to have breached an Environment Court order by permitting the operation of a milking shed and the milking of cows. They had earlier been banned from milking at their 700-cow farm.
Three further charges against Phillip Woolley were also proven, the judge found, including permitting a discharge of dairy effluent from a travelling irrigator.
The matter was heard last month.
