Listed retirement village operator Ryman Healthcare Ltd is planning a $60 million facility on a 6ha site it has bought in Whangarei.
The Whangarei retirement village would be home to more than 300 residents, while employing more than 100 staff, Ryman said today.
The planned fully integrated retirement village would include townhouses, serviced apartments, a village centre and care facilities.
Among features to be provided were an indoor heated swimming pool and spa, an all weather bowling green, hair and beauty salons, library, gym and a grand internal atrium.
Ryman said it now operated 17 villages nationwide, and had plans to open new villages in Nelson, Orewa, New Plymouth, Dunedin, and Gisborne, as well as Whangarei.
Ryman shares closed yesterday at $2.01, after ranging between $1.68 and $2.75 in the past year.
