Retirement home operator Metlifecare earned a 24 per cent higher net profit of $21.7 million in the December year.
The company, which is majority owned by Retirement Villages New Zealand, increased its operating surplus before interest, tax, unusual items and minority interests, from $19.4 million to $24.4 million.
Earnings per share rose to 25c, from 20.2c. No dividend has been declared.
