Coffee producers look for stability

Delegates from coffee-producing nations will open the second World Coffee Conference today and will look for ways to stabilise prices.

Low coffee prices have deepened poverty and social problems in producer nations, International Coffee Organisation head Nestor Osorio says.

The organisation plans to create an international coffee council to examine the results of the conference and make formal recommendations to create more stable prices.
