China appoints trade negotiator

China has appointed a top trade negotiator to help the country deal with rising trade disputes, reports say.

Trade ties with the European Union and the United States have been strained in recent months by a surge in Chinese textile exports, rows over copyright piracy and claims that an unfairly low currency gives China's factories an unfair edge over foreign rivals.
