Changes at the top for Birthcare

Maternity hospital owner Birthcare is under new management.

In fact, it's one of the present owners, but Birthcare director Roy Younge has decided to buy out his business partner and go it alone.

Mr Younge said today he has reached an agreement with former co-director Lee Mathias whereby Mr Younge will take full ownership of Birthcare, including the organisation's two maternity hospitals, for an undisclosed sum.

Mr Younge also announced the appointment of Ann Hanson as Birthcare's general manager. Ms Hanson is currently service manager for Primary Maternity Services at Counties-Manukau District Health Board.

Birthcare has private maternity hospitals in Parnell, Auckland and Huntly, catering for normal birthing and all post-natal stays.
