Certified Organics has signed a deal for almost $1 million to supply its Interceptor weed killer to the government of South Australia.
This is the company's biggest ever single contract and exceeds its total Interceptor sales for 2005.
Certified Organics said it would start shipping the order in the next few weeks, and it would be fully completed within the first half of the year.
The latest order is three times the amount the South Australian government ordered in 2005. They are using Interceptor as part of a programme to eradicate the noxious weed branched broomrape, which infests large areas in the state.
Certified Organics said the success so far of Interceptor in South Australia had attracted interest from other government agencies looking to deal with branched broomrape.
The company also said it was in the initial stages of similar projects in the European Union.
Shares in Certified Organics were up 0.5c at 6c in early trading today, having ranged between 4.5c and 6.9c over the past year.
