Carter Holt Harvey will have to wait until Monday to hear if it has been successful in getting an injunction against the Waterfront Workers' Union protesters disrupting the loading of its logs onto ships.
The forestry giant sought an injunction in the High Court at Wellington yesterday, after a bitter four-month dispute over its use of out-of-town Mainland Stevedoring to load ships in the South Island.
Much of yesterday's hearing was held in chambers, with media and the public cleared out of the courtroom.
The judge reserved a decision until Monday.
WWU national secretary Trevor Hansen said the judge had also ordered that there be no protest action on Friday - the day that Carter Holt's next ship is due into port in Bluff for log loading - pending the decision.
But Mr Hansen said that the union was not planning to do anything anyway.
