High-profile executive Carol Hirschfeld has resigned from Maori TV following a proposed restructure at the broadcaster, and taken up a senior role at Radio NZ.
Maori TV today confirmed Ms Hirschfeld, the general manager production, was stepping down from her role for a position with Radio New Zealand.
Radio NZ said Ms Hirschfeld is to become Head of Content, responsible for news, drama, music, spoken features and Radio New Zealand International.
Maori TV chief executive Paora Maxwell said Ms Hirschfeld had decided not to accept the newly aligned position of HOD Internal Productions, or to apply for the leadership role of Head of Programming & Production in the proposed restructure of the organisation.
He acknowledged Ms Hirschfeld's significant contribution to Maori Television since joining the organisation in 2009.
