New car registrations fell 16 per cent in April to 5518 compared with March, but were up 6 per cent from a year earlier, the Land Transport Safety Authority said.
Used car registrations - generally imported used cars - totalled 12,912 last month, 2.3 percent lower than the previous month and 0.3 per cent behind April 2004.
