Jobs at confectionery giant Cadbury Schweppes' two New Zealand plants appear safe despite the company's plans to axe 7500 jobs and close 10 plants worldwide.
Cadbury has plants in Dunedin and Auckland, and a spokeswoman in Melbourne said operations in New Zealand and Australia were in good shape. "We don't have any plans to announce at this stage," she said.
The Service and Food Workers Union's national secretary, John Ryall, said he had not heard of planned job cuts in New Zealand but the union would be checking with management.
