It's been another bumper Christmas for retailers, if the figures from the last minute stampede to the shops are anything to go by.
Christmas Eve has seen new records set for the number of electronic transactions.
Paymark says the peak on its network was just over 157 sales per second.
The record was set between midday and 1pm yesterday.
