Commercial landlords are pleased with the new Cabinet lineup but a big house builder is not.
Connal Townsend, chief executive of the Property Council which represents commercial, industrial and retail landlords, welcomed Bill English as the new Minister of Infrastructure and Nick Smith as Environment Minister.
But Richard Carver, director of Jennian Homes, was disappointed that Maurice Williamson was the new Minister of Building and Construction.
"This is extremely disappointing to the building industry when it is facing both a recession and a major construction downturn, creating some of the biggest challenges in living memory for the industry," Carver said.
The $12 billion construction business was facing an unprecedented downturn.
"This boom-bust cycle must be broken for the sake of the industry," Carver said.
"It is some consolation that Maurice Williamson is a very experienced minister and politician but he has no experience in our sector," he said.
