Document management software company Silent One, part owned by New Zealand Post, has made a sale to Britain's Financial Times.
Chief executive Peter Hammond said the sale was for about 100 users in the Financial Times division managing international information feeds.
The sale was done through reseller TriCoStar, which also did the implementation.
"We are just starting to move out of our New Zealand base, so this is a significant sale to a respected and high profile customer," Hammond said.
The Silent One product, which costs $400 a user, uses Microsoft Server to manage electronic documents.
The Wellington company is also developing a non-Microsoft version, which uses a MySQL database.
A trial version is being installed at Crop and Food Research.
Hammond said Silent One had 25 New Zealand customers, including Parliamentary Services, the Audit Office and Taranaki Healthcare.
Its revenue in the year to June 30 was just over $1 million.
"We are expecting 40 per cent growth this year," Hammond said.
A reseller has been appointed in China, where Hammond said prospects were good.
