The divorce between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie leaves an estimated US$400 million ($546m) empire to be split between the pair.
Pitt, 53, and Jolie, 41, have only been married for two years, but began their relationship 12 years ago and have acquired a mass of wealth during that time.
Their combined wealth has been estimated at US$400 million ($546 million) with much of it tied up in property they've collected all over the world.
They also started the Jolie-Pitt Foundation in 2006.
The Jolie-Pitts live between their sprawling Hollywood home, reportedly purchased by Pitt for US$1.7m ($2.3m) in 1994, and the Miraval estate in the french village Brignol.
In 2008 it was reported the couple purchased the spread together for US$60m ($82m).
Miraval has several homes that have a total of 35 bedrooms. The 1,000 acres also features a large lake and a vineyard which produces the couple's wine.
The divorce agreement probably won't come close to these pricey settlements:
The New York Timesreported Zhou Yahui, the Chinese tycoon behind gay dating app Grindr, transferred nearly 300 million shares of his company to his wife in what Chinese media called a divorce.
Zhou, 39, earned his fortune developing web and mobile games.
Last week a Beijing district court awarded his wife shares worth about US$1.14 billion. The huge equity transfer would make this one of the most expensive divorce settlements in China to date.
Personal cheque for US$975 million
Billionaire oil magnate Harold Hamm wrote a US$975 million personal cheque to his ex-wife Sue Ann Arnall in January 2015 to settle a bitter divorce that was dragged through courts for several years.
Hamm founded Continental Resources in 1967, and is worth more than US$8 billion. After a 25 year marriage, some observers expected that the divorce might cost Hamm up to US$5 billion.
Hollywood's costliest divorce
Mel Gibson's divorce cost him at least US$325m, and is believed to be the most costly celebrity split on record.
In 2012, the actor gave away half his US$650m fortune to his ex-wife Robyn, the mother of seven of his eight children. They had no pre-nuptial agreement.
The couple was married for 31 years, but separated while they were still loving together in Australia after he was arrested for drunk driving in Malibu in 2006.
The couple together owned properties in the US, Australia, Costa Rica and a private island in Fiji.
