Brakes applied at Ford Motor Co

Ford chief executive Bill Ford was granted total compensation of US$13.3 million last year, down 40 per cent from 2004 after he chose to forgo any new remuneration until the company is consistently profitable again.

Ford, whose great-grandfather Henry founded Ford in 1903, has forgone a cash salary since 2001.
