Blis Technologies says it has redeployed some of its top scientists into technical business development roles.
The company developed and makes Blis K12 which contains naturally occurring beneficial bacteria to help throat health by supporting the throat's natural defences.
Today the company said clinical affairs manager Jeremy Burton had been appointed to the role of business development manager, while biochemist and biotechnologist Murray Kennedy was moving from Tatua Co-Operative Dairy Co to the job of logistics manager.
Blis chief executive Barry Richardson said it was obvious to him from Blis' relationship with companies such as Nestle Nutrition, that it needed staff who not only understood the company's unique science, but also understood its commercial value and could negotiate contracts on that basis.
"It is all about having people who can convert our intellectual assets into commercial reality," he said.
Blis shares were up 0.1c by late morning to 6.6c.
