BHP Billiton to delist from NZSX

Australian mining company BHP Billiton today announced it will delist from the New Zealand Stock Exchange.

The company will maintain its listing on the Autralian Stock Exchange and will delist from the NZSX after the close of trade this Friday.

Despite its listing in New Zealand, BHP shares were not traded on the NZSX and the company said it felt it was no longer appropriate to maintain a listing here.

The company said in a statement shareholders will continue to be able to trade their shares on the Australian Stock Exchange and would still receive notices and reports from the company.

After the delisting, announcements will no longer be made to the New Zealand Stock Exchange but will be posted on BHP Billiton's website.
