Blackmore has 27 years' experience in the commercial property sector including valuations, commercial property development and investment, and as chief executive of NZX-listed property company Property for Industry.
Blackmore is a director of Northland Port Corporation (NZ) and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
The new Bayleys Paihia office is located on the corner of Marsden Rd and Williams Rd in central Paihia, between the town's post office and pharmacy.
The office will be headed by long-time Bayleys sales manager Chester Rendell and his wife Louise, who also brings a vast background of sales experience. Chester Rendell, who has been with the company for 14 years, will move from Bayleys Kerikeri where he was office manager.
The new Bayleys Kerikeri manager is Paul Jeeves, who relocates to the Bay of Islands after successfully selling residential homes for Bayleys Whangarei for the past year.
Whangarei-born Jeeves' corporate experience includes overseeing large, multibillion-dollar residential housing projects in Dubai, Ireland and Queenstown.
Mark Macky, Bayleys in the North owner/director, said the "three-pronged" expansion would further underpin the company's growing network and expertise throughout the region, and was instigated after gaps had been exposed in the real-estate market.
"There is enough confidence in the residential, coastal/waterfront and tourism property markets, for example, to justify the evolution of an office in Paihia and covering Russell, whereas previously any marketing activity for those towns would have been co-ordinated from our Kerikeri branch," Macky said.
"Since March last year, our coastal sales specialists have been tracking a renewed interest in both people moving into the Bay of Islands, and buying secondary or holiday-home properties. This is an obvious sign of a gradually improving economy.
"Similarly, a gradual improvement in the general economy has driven the appointment of Ross Blackmore in the commercial and industrial management role. There is now enough commercial property activity in Northland to sustain investment in this new position and we are excited to have a professional of Ross' calibre join our business," said Macky.
"Since late 2011, the Bayleys in the North commercial sales team has been noting growing interest in A-plus and A-grade investment properties - predominantly up to around the $1.5 million mark.
"As the volume of interest in this bracket and investment class has now reached critical mass, it was an obvious response to bolster our commercial and industrial capacity."
Macky predicted that the ripple effect of Auckland's housing boom would be felt in Northland toward the middle of this year, and the appointment of Jeeves to head Bayleys Kerikeri's residential team would position the company well to take advantage of this market upturn.
