A specific batch of Hellers sausages has been recalled over fears they may contain gluten, the Ministry of Primary Industries says.
Their Breakfast Angus Beef sausages are being recalled "due to the presence of an undeclared allergen", MPI said in a statement.
The affected sausages have the use by date of September 22 2017.
"Consumers with a gluten allergy or intolerance should not consume this product... If you are not allergic or intolerant to gluten this recall does not affect you," MPI says.
The affected batch are sold at Pak'nSave, New World and Four Square supermarkets throughout the South Island.
