Australia tries to keep Skase out

The Australian Government spent about A$30,000 in its failed bid to prevent Pixie Skase, the widow of fugitive Christopher Skase, renewing her Australian citizenship.

Skase, who had become citizen of the Dominican Republic, returned to Australia last November after fleeing overseas with her husband in 1991 when his business failed owing close to A$2 billion.
