KEY POINTS:
CANBERRA - Australia's trade deficit blew-out to over A$1 ($1.14) billion in December as the country's worst drought in over 100 years hit rural exports.
The December trade balance of goods and services deficit was A$1.336 ($1.53) billion, compared with an upwardly revised $897 million shortfall in November.
Economists had forecast a A$1 billion trade gap.
Total exports fell one per cent with rural exports dropping four per cent.
