An Australian-owned company has bought out local document management outfit Total Records Management Ltd (TRM) for an undisclosed sum.
Recall New Zealand general manager Gavin Thwaites said the purchase followed major growth in the Asia-Pacific region by the company, a subsidiary of Australian outfit Brambles.
Recall bought out Australian information management company AUSDOC last year.
Mr Thwaites said the purchase strengthened Recall's market position across the small, medium and corporate business sectors.
TRM provides document management services, including storage and destruction, for a client base from SMEs to government departments.
It hit the headlines last year when thousands of Hutt Valley District Health Board's files were damaged when water got into TRM's facility in Seaview.
Because of space limitations, Hutt Valley's board had contracted TRM to store and retrieve the closed medical files.
