The Auckland Rugby Union has posted a surplus of nearly two and a half million dollars for the 2005 financial year.
The ARU will hand out around 850 thousand of that profit to local clubs.
Union CEO David White says the surplus comes on the back of record Blues crowd figures, as well as the Lions tour matches, Bledisloe Cup test and hosting the NPC semi and final.
Meanwhile former All Blacks winger Bryan Williams has been voted onto the Auckland Rugby board.
Two new life members have been inducted into the ARU, Auckland and All Blacks icon Waka Nathan and former NZRU chairman Rob Fisher.
