KEY POINTS:
Online publisher ID Ltd is to be the South Island sales affiliate for APN News & Media's online activities.
In exchange APN will represent ID, which describes itself as the South Island's largest publisher, in the North Island.
The deal between APN Digital Media - whose sites include the NZ Herald, The Listener and UBD - and ID was announced today.
ID - with a portfolio of sports sites including NZ Cricket, as well as other sites such as Student Job Search and Berl - said it would provide full sales representation at agency level within the South Island for all APN websites.
Joint ventures were also under way with several print publishers to take them online.
The unique browser market reach of New Zealand domestic internet traffic for ID Ltd and APN Holdings combined was 28 per cent, with traffic of 2.5 million unique browsers and more than 40 million page impressions a month, ID Ltd said.
That would make ID Ltd and APN Digital the third largest online publishing group in New Zealand.
