SYDNEY - Disgraced businessman Rodney Adler has appealed against the severity of his sentence after pleading guilty to fraud charges.
The former HIH director was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison in March after he admitted to fleecing the insurance company of A$2 million ($2.13 million) and lying about shares, making him eligible for parole on October 13, 2007.
But the former high flyer instructed his legal team to appeal the sentence.
A hearing has been set for March 22 next year, the Australian newspaper reported today.
Sydney lawyer Elizabeth Fullerton QC has been hired to argue his case.
