Sara Bunny is the deputy editor and writer for Travel magazine
From chopper rides over remote islands, to scoring a stay at an outlandish celebrity villa, I’ve had the privilege of working on some wonderful stories over the years. I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism at the University of Canterbury in 2010, and as a magazine fanatic from way back, I bucked the trend in my journalism class and made a beeline for the glossies. I’ve since been lucky enough to work on a range of titles including the Australian Women’s Weekly, Woman’s Day, Good Health and Next magazine, alongside stints in content creation and corporate communications. These days, it’s an absolute thrill to be part of the Herald Travel team. Getting the chance to meet passionate and creative people from NZ and beyond is by far the best bit of the job. With so many amazing tales crossing the travel desk, there’s always something new to discover and, of course, there’s never a shortage of holiday inspiration!
