Rod Emmerson is the editorial cartoonist for the NZ Herald and has been in this role since 2003.

Prior to joining the Herald, Rod was editorial cartoonist for The Morning Bulletin in Rockhampton, Australia, while syndicating his work to various newspapers in and out of the APN stable. His work was also syndicated through the Cartoonist and Writers Syndicate in New York. He has many award acknowledgements spanning his career in both NZ and Australia, and is a former president of the Australian Cartoonists' Association, resigning from this post upon the move to NZ. Rod has an affiliation with the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists and the Association of Canadian Cartoonist's Association and has been a guest speaker at conferences.
