Veteran Gisborne journalist and broadcaster Murray Robertson has spent 50 years in the media industry. He has spent most of that time reporting the news in Tairawhiti. The 72-year-old began his career as a cadet with the Gisborne Herald as an 18-year-old and became a broadcaster and radio reporter at the age of 24-25. He currently works as a senior reporter for the Herald, hosts the Larsawn Gisborne Sports Show on NewstalkZB on Saturday mornings, and delivers the Tairawhiti Regional News on Radio Ngati Porou at 7.30am five days a week.
