Julia Gessler has spent her career working in media, with a focus on magazine publishing. She studied Comparative Literature and Culture with Visual Arts at Royal Holloway, University of London, before moving back to Auckland, where she now lives. After working across various local magazines for several years, she joined NZME in 2020 as a writer and proofreader for the New Zealand Herald’s premium lifestyle titles Viva and Canvas. In 2022, she became Viva’s digital editor. She currently reports on fashion, culture, food and more.
