Ancient Egyptian ruins, including a 9m stone pyramid, are being unveiled at a new paintball theme park in Woodhill Forest this week among five movie-themed game zones.
The company, Delta Force Paintball, has finalised development of its new New Zealand flagship centre at Woodhill Forest. Its grand opening is on Saturday, April 30.
Centre manager Peter Harnett claims the opening signifies a new era of paintball in New Zealand. ''It is the biggest and best paintball theme park in the country' and will 'revolutionise the New Zealand paintball industry.''
The new centre sits on about 14 hectares in the popular recreational park in Woodhill Forest. Centre game zones include Tomb Raider, Tropic Thunder, Resident Evil and the Fuel Dump. Facilities include an outdoor safe-area overlooking the picturesque forest.
The centre has been under development for three months and joins the company's 31 sites internationally. The company is based in the United Kingdom.
Delta Force, which celebrated its 21st anniversary last year, is the largest operator of paintball fields worldwide including UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand
'When people think paintball, they think of car tyres and pallets. We've created high quality themed game zones the whole family can enjoy," says Mr Harnett. "Our safety equipment is second to none and value for money is impressive".
