A big new Auckland office block, planned and developed during last decade's financial slump, last night picked up the Property Council's supreme award.
The ASB North Wharf at Wynyard Quarter is owned by Kiwi Income Property Trust which worked with the bank's property boss Derek Shortt to create a 21,000sqm block which judging panel convener John Dunn said was impressive on every level.
"The attention to detail, co-operation of all stakeholders, the leading-edge engineering features incorporated, the commitment to sustainability and the delivery of a very complex project providing quality office accommodation for the ASB's head office " was impressive, he said. The judges thought it was the best because of economic and financial factors, project vision and innovation including degree of difficulty, design and construction, owner and user satisfaction and sustainability and efficiency of operation.
Judges received 64 entries and 40 awards were made in the event sponsored by Rider Levett Bucknall.
