Police and Cornwall Park management are concerned about a series of reported incidents over the past few weeks during which sheep rustlers have used dogs and traps to round up and capture sheep after dark.
Most recently, on the evening of Wednesday August 27, members of the public disturbed three men and three large dogs capturing new born lambs.
Cornwall Park staff are obviously concerned for the welfare of the farm's stock, particularly in the current lambing season and are working long hours to ensure the flock's safety.
Police and park staff urge nearby residents and visitors to the park to be extra vigilant and call Police on 111 and/or the farm manager on 021-686-778 immediately if any suspicious behaviour is noticed.
Police would also like to hear from anyone who has witnessed these types of incidents recently or who can identify the people and dogs involved.
