Finding all the markers across the wild, wild west won't be the only satisfaction. For Waitakere students competing in the Eco-City Challenge, $1500 of spot prizes are to be won.
Waitakere City Council is sponsoring the Eco-City Challenge School Award.
The Aucklander is also a sponsor.
The Eco-City Challenge is a four-hour urban navigation event on April 19.
Teams will explore the city's parks, trails and centres and will be awarded points when they find markers.
City councillor Linda Williams says sponsoring this event is important to members of the council.
``Supporting smart travel options, such as making more journeys on foot, by bike, and using public transport, is a key focus of the council,' she says.
The council has donated the Eco-City Challenge Whanau Prize, a spot prize valued at more than $600 for some lucky family team taking part in the event. For more information and an entry form, see: www.lacticturkey.co.nz/EcoCityChallenge.htm
